Policeman Sin-Binned!

Local Policeman Tim Wynn is seen here demonstrating Verwood RUFC's new "Sin Bin" at its annual Summer Touch Rugby Tournament which is held over six weeks on Thursday evenings at Potterne Park, Verwood.

Tim, the Rugby Club's player coach said: " We thought it would be a bit of fun to literally have a sin bin for those players who breach the playing rules  and are sent off for two minutes. However, the games are played in such good spirit and fun that it is just not used!"

Touch rugby is a "casual" form of rugby and is a non-contact version of the game with a touch replacing the tackle. All ages join in the games - Mums Dads and youngsters. The Rugby Football Union is actively promoting the expansion of casual Rugby and the Summer Touch Tournament is an integral part of Verwood RUFC's community rugby programme.
