Verwood were away to Southampton on Saturday 15th September and a somewhat depleted Verwood side lost 35 -5. Wayne Vaughan suffered a nasty dislocation of his thumb.
According to the Sunday Telegraph:-
"Heard the one about the 0-0 win? To combat the decline in the junior
game, the RFU have told clubs to make every effort to honour league fixtures
even if it means having to beg, steal or borrow players from other teams.
Previously, clubs who failed to honour games would be docked two league
points, but these strugglers are now likely to escape censure as long as
some sort of game is played. In such circumstances league officials can
award the match to the non-offending team and have termed the ruling the
"0-0 win". Points scored during the game will not count"
For Season 2001-2002 the HRURS Committee have agreed to remove all username

web surfers can see all the information published without restriction.
A new menu bar reflects this change. The New Laws (and the old ones), Referee
Signals, Referees' contact numbers, the monthly Referee match Appointments,
Links to Hampshire's Clubs, Links to other Referee Societies, Links to
Rugby News Sites, some history of the Society, How to become a referee and
how training and dvelopment is organised, photos of HRURS refs in action
(or perhaps inaction!), a caption competition and lots lots more.
Simon Thomas (webmaster) will be re-designing parts of the site over the next month, so any suggestions, ideas, etc would be gratefully received.
