Become a Rugby Volunteer

    Why Become A Rugby Volunteer?

    The benefits of volunteering are numerous and specific to every individual, and within rugby, opportunities range far further than just coaching and refereeing. There are a wide variety of roles for people of all ages who want to get involved in rugby.

    There are positions within our club that suit any specialism or interest. You don't have to be a rugby expert to be welcomed at Verwood RUFC, no matter what your background, whether or not you play rugby, whether you understand the game, you could be a rugby volunteer. There are many reasons why you should get involved. Here's just a few of the benefits of volunteering and goals that it can help you achieve:

        * Build your self-esteem and confidence
        * Great way to learn or develop skills
        * Pathway to enhance your work experience
        * Gain qualifications and build your CV
        * Have fun and enjoy yourself!
        * To be active and improve health
        * Meet new people, make new friends and broaden your social network
        * Make a difference in people's life
        * Be part of the tradition - without volunteers, rugby clubs would not exist
        * 'Giving something back'; expressing gratitude for help you may have received in the past
        * Chance to support something that you feel strongly about
        * Feeling needed and valued is satisfying in itself
        * Make a difference within your community

    Hopefully there is something in the above list that motivates you to get involved and start volunteering. The next step is for you to now find out the kind of skills and roles that rugby clubs need and are looking to fill within their clubs, as well as who you can get in touch with to help you start your volunteering experience...
