Tsunami Relief.
Our compassion and sympathy go out to the victims
of the South Asian Tsunami Disaster. The death toll as confirmed on New

Christmas Sherry Morning
The Club's traditional Sherry morning was held
on Sunday 19th December at the Royal British Legion. Our thanks to Ken
Banks for organising this event which was well attended by all and sundry
Bournemouth Lions & New Milton
Verwood beat Bournemouth Lions at Chapel Gate
on Saturday 18th December 22-10. "Magic" Darren Kendall scores two tries
in one of his best performances for thre club at inside centre. See Match

East Dorset
Verwood drew their last League game of the year
on Saturday 11th December away to East Dorset RFC 10-10. See Match

A number of members have well known look alikes.

Trojans
Verwood were due to play Trojans II at home on
Saturday 27th November but the Southampton side cried off at the last minute.

Darren the "Mountie" Kendall
The secret is out regarding Magic's 4 day trip
to Canada. Very few people know that he spent time there training as a
Canadian Mountie and he is returning for a re-union. Below is a picture
of the young Kendall in full uniform. See Magic

Verwood were away to Oaks II on Saturday 20th
November losing 12-5 in a tightly contested game.
Wayne Vaughan scored Verwood's only try of the game.

on Saturday 30th October in what proved to be a dire spectacle.

Prior to the game Club Chairman Ken Banks presented Verwood resident Keith
Brown of Edmondsham Road with a cheque for £100. This prize was won
by Mr. Brown when he took part in the Rotary Club of Verwood's Rustic Fayre
Balloon Race organised by the Rugby Club on the August Bank Holiday. His
balloon was judged to have travelled the furthest when its' card was returned
from a town close to Dieppe in France.
Samhain Road Race Thursday 28th
October at 9.30pm
The Club held its inaugural Samhain Road Race
on Thursday 28th October to raise finds for SPIRE as part of the Charity's
October Fund raising drive. This was an unique event commemorating the
athletic feats of a famous Fayrewood chieftain, Simon de Bankes, similar
to those of
Guto Nyth Bran who has inspired the Nos Galan Road Races.

& Wareham
The Club entertained Swanage & Wareham III
at home on Saturday 16th October winning 17-13 whilst the seconds beat
Swanage & Wareham IV 28-14 to round off a great weekend of Rugby.

Stoneham Park
Verwood were back in League action away to Stoneham
Park on Saturday 9th October winning 5-57. Good stuff all round from the
boys. Sad though to report that Charlie Cockram broke his ankle. We wish
him a speedy recovery. See Match Report

Verwood beat Fordingbridge 17-5 at the Recreation
Ground on Saturday 2nd October. The Home side were visibly shocked by the
margin of victory with Verwood crossing the Bridge line on three occasions.
This victory proves the improvement in Verwood's performance and shows
that they are worthy of holding their own in Hampshire 2 if they achieve

Round Powergen Junior Vase
What a start to the season. Verwood beat Egham
22-15 dominating the game from start to finish. Verwood now play
Trojans in Round 1 on 18th September.

Verwood Rusic Fayre
The Verwood Rustic Fayre was once again a great
success and thanks to all those members who manned the Club's stall selling
balloons and generally prompting the Club. Thanks in particular to Wayne
Vaughan who managed to sprint the length of Potterne Park when our net
of balloons headed for the great escape unexpectedly! Total balloon sales
were thought to be in the region of 270.

Pre-Season Training
Pre-season training is now in full swing with
20+ regularly turning out at Potterne Park on Thursday evenings. Training
is from 7.30pm
Ellingham Show
The Club were again are pleased to be associated with the Ellingham
& Ringwood Agricultural Show and helped with setting up at the Showground.
The Show took place place at Somerley Park on Saturday 14th August.

Mudeford Raft Race
Verwood came 3rd in this prestigious event despite
having beaten the winners in the earlier heat!! The Verwood crew decided
to take the inside line thinking they would counter the effect of the incoming
tide which, alas, ultimately assisted rather than hindered the winners.
